Lester,

Obviously, if it wasn't holding you, you shouldn't devote your time to it. That said, there's often big shifts in tone when either the Doctor or the companion changes, so it might be a good time to drop back in and see if you like the new iteration better. :)

Aphelion is a fanzine. Fan zine. On the web. By fans, for fans. By writers, for writers. It's not a business. It never had the ambition to be a business. And the day it does have that ambition, you'll find me in the bar, talking about the good old days over a glass of scotch. In fact, that's where I...

Re: The August issue is now live!

As a note to readers: This month's features essay was actually posted last month, but the index was inadvertently not changed, so people might not have actually realised it was updated. It has therefore been held over for another month. In addition, there's a book review this month from our senior e...

And, how exactly does the wind comment? I want to make sure I do it right.

Re: Aphelion Covers video

The early covers *are* lower quality, and it's not an accident. The very first cover was Aphelion #17, dated October 1998. In 1998, almost everyone on the Internet was using dialup, and most of those people were at 28.8k or 14.4k. (The first 56k modems had just been released that year.) As a result,...

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow.
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then comment.

NYC will put you in striking distance of a great many good conventions, especially if you're willing to travel as far as, say, Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Boston.
