Eliminates the Squirrels by Andrew De La Pena
The intro worked; got my attention. Here we have a story set in the near future concerning a robot and it’s duties. In this case the robot is a nanny looking after two grade-school age girls as the story suggests. The story is full of thoughts about robotics and the future that will have them everyw...

No Man’s Land by Dan Zangerl
The intro got my attention. “Stabbing, bone snapping, constricting, blinding pains that would be lethal had they been physical. Now the desire to make those pains physical started to consume my mind, day and night.” A nice way to tell of the mental pang that goes through someone’s mind. The further ...

Similar to a 40s detective story but set in the future with time travel as a contributing factor with the crime. Nice theme. The story became a little confusing with all the elements between the father and son and the detective. A nice read and can see the this author has the talented need for writi...

The world of quantum physics which I must say is fascinating and beyond certainty. It's been a number of years since I read In Search Of Schrodinger’s Cat or other articles on the subject. The mathematics is interesting but I haven’t venture into that in over forty years. It is amazing how Emerson’s...

I going to try to get one in. Been very busy lately. My wife broke her hip and helping her has taken up much of my time. Pus, I've been busy with the Roof Garden Chorus--I'm the president this year--in getting ready for our concert September 30. Plus the Veterans administration has me going to the h...

I like the diary format. The beginning grabs my attention and the remainder of the story holds it. Edgar Allen Poe comes to mind as I read this. Poe had a propensity for creating horror similar to how this author approached it. I must say, I like it!! Very good-- of course I enjoyed Poe when a teena...

The exotic land pulled me into the story and held my interest most of the time. A spooky ghost story with nice description and moving characters that at times came alive to me.
Nice job!

The Champion by C. E. Gee
The beginning could have been crafted better to grab one’s attention. Throughout the story narrations became the main telling technique; I usually like a balance between show and tell but the narration in this story did work. What’s amazing about this story is the more I read, the more I became infa...

Interesting story centered on visions, religious beliefs and in some cases perhaps mental illnesses. The beginning got my attention and the story held it until the end. That makes a good story. Susan examines the thoughts and feelings of religious people when one starts to see visions, and in some c...

I try to comment on stories but can't every month. This month I'll read some but since my wife broke her hip, I've been very busy with her. I have her home now, but taking care of her fills up much of my time. When I do get a few minutes to read, I get interrupted with a phone call or one of my wife...

I like the anonymous approach since it doesn't give the read a clue about the author. However, the author's style might come through but that will be minimal.

Charlie Willson by Michele Dutcher Nice intro to the moon and its slugs. Guys used to join the navy to get away in the old days, but Charlie joined a ‘Slug harvesting farm’ to get away. The company gives ‘cubes’ to help with the long isolation—a mood stimulate I believe. Charlie is in turmoil with h...

I like the idea of an African-type setting on distant worlds. Who knows what lurks out there except the animals that inhabit such a place! They might be strange to us, and we might be just a strange to them. Lost worlds---I'm sure the universe is full of them. I'm interested!

This might have been mentioned, but one time Lester drew a picture, and we had to write a flash fiction based on how the picture inspired us. It was an interesting take, and I enjoyed it. We created a story from a picture!
