I don't generally gravitate to fantasy, but this story was quite well done. Characterization and dialog were very good; characters were economically portrayed, yet distinct and credible.

I did get a little confused with setting, particularly in the architecture of the tower. Best I can figure, it had to be mostly underground. Not bad, though.

The plot was very good as well, with an unexpected twist to it.

I could easily imagine this as one of a series of adventures, and I think this author is capable of accomplishing such a project. But, rather than go back and describe the previous six tower break-ins, I'd like to see where this thief and the girl go from here.
