i love how Lester opens Pandora's box
and give thanks to both Mark, Lester, and all the others here who support this world for writers...
and of course Mark, you inspired another poem.

Meeting William

pleasant fellow really
this Shakespeare character
met him the other day having tea
sitting near the steps of the Cathedral

there next to him was Poe
now there is a fellow a writer should get to know
and the two were engaged in wits

Edgar spoke of crows
William spake of love
and i just listened to the words coming from their breath

i would have listened longer
gaining inspiration
maybe learn more of word creation
but both William and Edgar have long been dead
supping upon wormwood and muddied water
the smell
the smell
oh horror begotten from the moment
I left.

you have heard of, of, of, (click) me
during the war of, of, of (click) suppression
the day they tried to take technology away.

(reboot)
(insert disk)
(power adjustment for fluctuations)
me, me, me...you have heard of, of, of...

"Malfunction: error code 1031, notify administrator"

"BANG!"

Now, the moment of timeless bliss
tides ebb while in grasp
robotic fingers tingle...

"Status green, TTK-109, check out with the administrator...Next!"

Mark, from one robot to another, "Excellent!"
or
"Bravo!"
this one should be submitted to Iian.

thanks John, of course I now have to pay my dues and respect to you and by your inspiration...

Mr. Mrs. Ms.

by: what is proper is only proper when well timed

In days of old they said, "Your Highness," genuflecting on their knees
of course they also said, and still say, "You bastard!"
that is a term that still applies to me.

People call people by name and title
they have done so since man gained the gift of language and speech
but what will they call a robot?

Serial number?
Model?
or will people give them 'cutesy' names.

"Come here tin lips, show momma you love me."

"Hey butter nuts, you're acting a little rusted, get to the fridge and bring me my protein bar."

If history is any indication of what's in store
technology will change
people will evolve
and names will still sound, well, sorry,
but they will still sound corny.
