Thanks Rick, I liked your poem also as it made me think of a Gin genie, the old tv show, "Bewitched", and yours
painted a great picture...What would happen if your Gin met the alien in 'Are You Scared of Words?'
okay, it took a few seconds, here it goes.

***

Love

He was gone in ash in flame...
He came in ash and flame, sorino emulsion combined with timmular flux
softy landed and exclaimed.

The people ran across around a round planet
trying to escape
all that is, except for she.

She heard his words
He knew her magic
speaking the old language of the mind
it was love today.

Two twined speaking of merging minds
soon, rising from the ashes of a doomed planet;
twins.

Hmm . . . the first part was enormously powerful, but that alien message -- I think the exaggerated spelling did it more harm than good. A little cartoonish, maybe. The 'come play with me" was terrific, though; either playful and fun or immensely scary, and with no clue as to which way to take it.

Scared of words? Damn right, I am. Sticks and stones can ONLY break my bones, but words (and now, ones and zeroes) can do a whole lot worse. George Orwell knew, and so few of us have listened. I don't think the aliens frighten me nearly as much as the 'government gone wild.'
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

thanks Lester for your comments, they gave me inspiration for another poem.

Words Of a Killer

Simple to say whatever, when held prisoner
a willing public to pick from
sheltered from my sick evil.

Many have my name: Bundy,,Dahmer, Holmes,Gossner...
simple and peaceful, much like a cartoon character
you may have even shaken my hand.

Sometimes I am very articulate in spelling
others, I carve my name in the victims forehead with an, "X"
bottom line though,
I'm a killer.

Woe to the fool who trusts me
but how to tell who is good or evil?
...
...
...
not by spelling or words or by methods deemed social,
only by luck
by chance
or
hunger.

There Must Be Some Mistake

Our son would never do anything like that,
They've got the wrong guy!
He was such a quiet boy, never got in any trouble --
Really! That thing with the puppy was an accident!

Such a shy child; bookish . . .
Of course he got bullied in school, but he never fought back!
What? That thing he wrote?
Oh, come on, he got those words from a cartoon show!
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

exactly:'
or,
in other words,
"By jove, I think you've got it"
****

Allah killed in England
or
his follower with a cleaver did
chop,
hack,
"whack"
and then talked with a lady
something about killing
war
of sorts
What will Allah say?
The Devil has already spoken.
And there still is trouble in Afghanistan.
