Stranded on an island story, except this one is on the moon. Stories like this one set the stage for interior monologues, since the protagonist is alone, and this story gives us that.

It’s interesting to watch Valerie spiral into the depth of despair and loneliness with each event that leads. Finally, when things look bleak, hope surfaces when the Commander’s voice rings through the static. The remainder of the story builds on the hope, and Valerie realizes that her world is still alive—even if a war had taken place.

A nice event-driven story of a marooned astronaut’s internal thoughts and feelings as she believes that her life will end shortly.
