Good question Rick, the cave to represent the primitive side of humanity is too obvious, even the planet Earth is too obvious. The world thinks it is a part of the 'grand scheme' the 'big picture'. I suppose much in the way a gerbil is content to be in its cage and run in a circle. And as for inspiration, you provided the following. (oh, i just got an idea. if you're up to the challenge lets write a poem together. i'll start with a title and first line then you do the second and i the third line until on the eighth and last line of the poem, you finish it. i always like how two minds work on something) so, first a poem and then a start to a mini-challenge

Cave

Urine stains long buried along with bone and ash
Safety, or so it was thought, when the mountains erupted; ice crept across the land
and marauders looking for sex.

Through time it was a place of rest
Wars great and small, and yet this small place was refuge
On the walls were names and dates, dating back to ancient pictures.

Strange how time flows and the meaning of the cave changes
yet
to the side of the tourist group taking pictures, a small boys stream hit the wall
as he too
took a piss.

Now for a challenge rick, ready?

Star gazer, chart of three dimensions until viewed through dark matter
far comes near, near falls far
black shows white, white shows color -sparks.

Serpent coiled, striking moons of passion imparts aphrodisiac and the cure
To live and travel well
playing the part.

Knowledge: Knowing: Kept locked away by mortality
Death the key
to the stars, to the stars, to the stars...
it starts.
