Read the story and liked it. Especially the part about magpies. Skota, the trickster. Amazing what they are capable of.
The story flowed well for me to read and the names you chose for the characters were not mind-bending ones.
Good job. As for improving, ha. Why bother? Just write the way you like and screw the readers if they don't like it (all in my humble opinion of course)
