Aphelion Micro-Con 2018 in Akron

I almost didn't make it; failed to bring sufficient driving directions and got a little lost on the way, but did get there, and not too late. We met at a Mexican-themed bar/restaurant for a drink and a gift exchange. Sergio is hugely generous; he presented me with a couple of books, a bottle of unusual plum-flavored gin liqueur, and boxes of candies from about five countries.
I presented him and Michele with an award plaque they'd earned for a screenplay they collaborated on; they had asked me to attend the ceremony in their absence, since it was close to me. And I had pin-buttons for each of us as well. I also gave Sergio some art materials and tools that I thought he might like for his modeling work.
After that, we went to a different place for dinner, which was quite nice.
These meetings don't last long these days; after we finished dinner I had to take Michele to the bus terminal and drop Sergio off at his hotel. I miss the earlier cons where we could spend the whole evening together talking. Still, every Aphelion Con is a good one!
