The Goblin by Michael Whitney

??? Wot, no comments?

Obviously, I liked the story (it's online, isn't it?). I thought Michael did a fine job of reversing the Horrible Alien Invaders theme, making Ysidroa and her tribe sympathetic and interesting. That most of the 'goblins' were too busy to even notice the presence of a sentient indigenous species was a sad commentary on the Manifest Destiny philosophy. No doubt Ysidroa's species would have ended up living on 'Reservations' if the 'goblins' had come deliberately and in force instead of just crash-landing ...

Other people must have read the story ... I can hear 'em lurking in the background, clicking, dragging, clicking, dragging ... If only they'd do a little typing in between clicks, we'd have something here.

Robert M.
You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
