A futuristic setting with inter-galactic space travel. Rodents, lice and other unwanted passengers present a problem. Also, micrometeorites hit the ship, even in deep space that is a possibility,

Reminds me of surreal stories about space and time travel that I used to read in the 1960s.

Outstanding piece of work, and very creepy, answering the question, 'How bad can it get?'

I'm nominating this one for a place in the Year's Best list.
