I can't remember -- have we had any Bruce Boston poems? (Mr. Boston is a frequent Asimov's poetry contributor.) Maybe Mr. Utley can mention Aphelion to Mr. Boston (assuming that competing poets ever talk to each other.)

Another Shel Silversteinian take on the goings-on behind the gaudy facade of gosh-wow super-science. What would the time travelers (glory hounds all) do if the techs went on strike while Professor Studly and his nubile assistants were off stalking Jack the Ripper, eh?

Time travel technician -- not quite as bad a job as red-shirted security guy on Kirk's Enterprise, but close. Long hours, danger, death, lousy pay. grumblegrumble hotshots rassumfrassumsnarf.

Robert M.
