Tesla gun duel

Hmmm... with some tweaks, this could be fun as a steampunk weapon. (Not too practical as is -- minimal amperage and the discharge looks like it seeks out the closest electrical ground instead of going to the target.) The electric guns in "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" might be more useful in a fight (sort of pellet guns firing capacitor-type projectiles?). (Can't remember if they apeared in the book, or just in the Disney movie with Kirk Douglas...)
You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.

Cute! Just make sure you've got a long enough extension cord.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

Those bastards! They stole my idea!
"Ah, also, Goden, her hands are callused, indicating she performed regular manual labor, and . . .. mm, what else . . . oh -- we found a small wound on her back, which is very distinctive; it was made by an electro-dart, of the type used by Terran police and military. We're certain this was the means of capture used by her abductors."
