Here's an update, a week into the P&E voting. (Predators and Editors is a completely different website that we have no connection to.)

For Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Short Story, Tyra Tanner's Story, "The Voice Catcher" has moved up to first place. That's exceptionally cool. Her story originally appeared in our May issue, and is currently showing in our list of Best Of 2016 on our Short Stories page.

For Best Fiction Magazine, Aphelion is currently tied for 2nd place.

For Best Poetry Magazine, we are in 2nd.

For Best Writer's Discussion Forum, we are in 2nd place.

The voting will run until Jan. 14th, so who knows what could happen, but so far, it's a really good showing. http://critters.org/predpoll/

Here's another update with one week left for the P&E voting.

For Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Short Story, Tyra Tanner's Story, "The Voice Catcher" has slipped to 3rd place. That's still pretty darn good, considering a lot of other choices I see in the list are from paying markets. Says something about Aphelion.

For Best Fiction Magazine, Aphelion has tumbled all the way down to 6th place. I hoped we could do better.

For Best Poetry Magazine, we are still in 2nd.

For Best Writer's Discussion Forum, we down to 3rd place.

If you feel we deserve it, there is still time for your vote to help the cause. Voting ends on the 14th. http://critters.org/predpoll

The results say 'Official' at the P&E poll. This is big to us, as we were pitted against all the other English-speaking fiction magazines in the world. Many of those we competed against were paying venues, some print, some online, and some professional.

Best Fiction Magazine/eZine, 7th place.
Best Poetry Magazine/eZine, 2nd place. (Great job, Iain Muir!)
Best Writer's Discussion Forum, 3rd place.
Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Short Story, 3rd place (tied) for Tyra Tanner's tale, "The Voice Catcher."

That's the highest an Aphelion story has ever scored.
