New section - Fun and Games

Post by doc »

This area of the board is for writers to challenge one another to impromptu writing challenges, share interesting but non-writing related news stories and links, and whatever other randomness folks care to engage in.

Have fun!

Er...we did tell you about it. Right here. Did'ya want a phone call? ;)

Nate has suggested he will offer another challenge on 8 June. (Which is former Aphelion Poetry Editor Kim Holec's birthday, apropos of nothing.)

Like Rob said, I plan on posting the June flash fiction challenge tomorrow, June 8, in the afternoon or evening. I have the sample story ready & waiting.

This one will run a bit differently than the last time, based on suggestions received. Details will be posted tomorrow as well. Hope you'll give it a try.

There is an ancient saying in Grrrwaarlooom:

Rwaaaaragrrrngoooorlllmmmmm.

The literal translation is (felinoid grammar aside)

He who sleeps when the (antelope-equivalent) herd passes never tastes the liver and heart of the prey.

In humanoid terms,

You snooze, you lose.

(Of course, I ENTERED and lost, so not snoozing may not help.)

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
