So did this suggestion come in the form of a little voice in your head? Or did the tree tap you on the shoulder and say, "Hey Gino! You should write a story about me! And don't worry about all those neighborhood pets that have gone missing. I had NOTHING to do with that."

What you meant to say was the story stemmed from ... er, had its roots in ... oh, never mind.
