I really liked this story! A nice, entertaining creative tint on a rather ‘special’ person---we all know someone who doesn’t fit the mold---that beats his drum to a different cadence. And the fact that he likes retiles symbolizes the shark contrast between his family and him. Good.

Showing how he loved reptiles starting in the fourth paragraph might have been better the telling. I say might because the narration worked for me. Just a point to consider and muse about. Maybe some others will disagree----at least a good discussion about showing versus telling always helps writers.

This story progressed with a style that not only held my interest, but increased it’s intensity. I found myself reading with pure enjoyment, and the time spent on this story passed by quickly.

That is the mark of a good story. Entertainment Entertained. Entertaining.
