I liked this a lot; it's a great example of how efficient poetry can be.

Just as an aside, when I first saw the photos of a different butterfly nebula (the term appears to be generic), it intrigued me so much that I called the local observatory and spoke with the astronomer there about it. Here is the one I asked about:

I was especially curious about how such distinct envelopes formed, as though portions of the ejecta were responding to something like surface tension.

He admitted that nobody knew how these things formed. I think Hubble was responsible for an awful lot of "What the hell is that thing??!" moments among astronomers.
