Goyyou by D. A. Cairns

Post by Lester Curtis »

No happy ending here . . .

The vague descriptions of Goyyou in the first half or so of the story did get me to wondering just what manner of creature he was. I was a little let down when the revelation was dispensed.

Also, I got taken out of the story a little by the improbability of this underground lair and its machinery -- with outside cameras -- remaining unnoticed as people came and went for years. Not to mention that everything stayed fully functional and all. You expect things to break down, and you should expect some nosy kid to spot a video camera in the bushes, especially if it's been there for years. Kids find everything, after all -- it's their job.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?
