just remember when and if an EMP or solar disturbance , his radio will still work.
So will slide rules. :wink:

Which brings up a very interesting point...if a story/poem is set in an alternate universe, does the science have to match our own? Being that an alternate universe setting is not our reality, can't the author make up any science and say that's what they do in HIS alternate universe. Does the science in every fictional existence HAVE to mirror our own?

From what I've heard advised, as long as the alternate rules of physics are consistent (and you cleverly notify the reader of what they are) then, roll with it, by all means.
