Ringside Seat by E. S. Strout

Post by Lester Curtis »

As Mr. Strout shows us this month, space opera is alive and -- well --

-- alive, anyway. A bit too heavy on plot gimmicks and light on characterization for my taste.

I just hope they got the Pentagon evacuated before the fireworks; evidently, we still need military. Now, if the aliens had targeted the House and Senate -- well, never mind that.

Fast-paced and very economical; I must admire Gino for his extraordinary restraint in the use of adverbs.
I was raised by humans. What's your excuse?

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
